God's Attributes

خدا کی صفات

God calls Himself 'Seeing' to the end that

خدا اپنے آپ کو آخر تک 'دیکھنے والا' کہتا ہے۔

His eye may scare you from sinning.

اس کی آنکھ آپ کو گناہ کرنے سے ڈرا سکتی ہے۔

God calls Himself 'Hearing' to the end that

خدا اپنے آپ کو آخر تک 'سماعت' کہتا ہے۔

You may close your lips against foul discourse.

آپ غلط گفتگو کے خلاف اپنے ہونٹ بند کر سکتے ہیں۔

God calls Himself 'Knowing' to the end that

خدا اپنے آپ کو آخر تک 'جاننے والا' کہتا ہے۔

You may be afraid of Him to plot an evil.

ہو سکتا ہے کہ آپ اس سے ڈرتے ہوں کہ وہ کسی برائی کی سازش کرے۔

These are not mere accidental names of God

یہ خدا کے محض حادثاتی نام نہیں ہیں۔

As a negro may be called camphor;

ایک نیگرو کے طور پر کافور کہا جا سکتا ہے؛

So are these names derived from God's attributes,

تو کیا یہ نام خدا کی صفات سے نکلے ہیں؟

And not mere vain titles of the First Cause.

اور پہلی وجہ کے محض بیہودہ عنوانات نہیں۔
