Sergeant – Basic Pay Scale 07

The Sergeant position represents a critical operational role within PERA's enforcement structure. This position demands individuals who possess not only strong physical capabilities but also the mental fortitude, technical skills, and professional dedication required for effective law enforcement operations.

Core Mission: To provide comprehensive assistance and operational support to enforcement officers (SDEO, EO, and IO) in executing their duties related to scheduled law implementation, while maintaining operational readiness and creating a deterrent presence through squad-based operations.

Key Responsibilities & Functions

  • Provide direct assistance to enforcement officers in the implementation and enforcement of scheduled laws across designated jurisdictions
  • Exercise powers and perform functions as prescribed under relevant acts, rules, and regulations governing PERA operations
  • Carry, maintain, and utilize authorized weapons and equipment in accordance with prescribed safety and operational procedures
  • Support enforcement officers in fine recovery operations, lawful arrest procedures, and appropriate application of authorized force when necessary
  • Operate as an integral member of mobile enforcement squads within notified jurisdictional boundaries
  • Facilitate entry, inspection, search, and sealing operations at public properties in compliance with scheduled laws and regulations
  • Enable enforcement officers to conduct warranted operations at private properties while ensuring legal compliance and procedural accuracy
  • Assist in the collection, preservation, and documentation of electronic evidence for legal proceedings
  • Execute seizure and confiscation operations of items, goods, articles, property, or vehicles relevant to offense investigations
  • Maintain secure custody of confiscated items and ensure immediate and accurate record-keeping as per prescribed protocols
  • Demonstrate proficiency in motorcycle riding and vehicle driving for operational mobility requirements
  • Adhere strictly to the buddy system protocol for all operational duties to ensure safety and operational effectiveness
